Pecan Nut Feeders

The pecan nut casebearer is the primary nut feeder in most parts of Texas and may account for 100 percent nut losses, when left uncontrolled. Where it is found, the pecan weevil can be devastating if not managed properly. The hickory shuckworm is found throughout the native orchard river areas, where it infests pecans mostly in the later season, after half-shell hardening. It then enters the shucks, lowering the quality and overall harvest weight of the pecan crop.
