Pecan Nut Casebearer Control

Check for Egg Lay

To determine when to spray, inspect a minimum of 200 clusters for casebearer eggs. Select trees that have had heavy casebearer infestations in previous years. The nut casebearer prefers some trees over others so that if you check those trees first you will normally detect the earliest eggs laid. Once egg laying is detected, spread the egg survey over a wider distribution of trees to obtain a representative sample.
